This memorial is situated in the Drill Hall, Eastgate, Barnsley, now occupied by The Barnsley Chronicle and Pen and Sword Books Ltd. It is a full height memorial, floor to ceiling, with gold lettering on black metal, with a marble surround. 

We wish to thank Sir Nicholas Hewitt for allowing us to view and take photographs. 

Research:
Unveiled on 11 May 1928 by Major J. G. E. Rideal, D.S.O., T.D., who had commanded the Barnsley (Wath) Detachment.   
Designed by Lt. Col. J. E. White, of Rotherham, late of the 5th York and Lancaster Regiment.
The memorial cost about £400.
