Ellen Elizabeth Turton / the beloved wife of James Turton / of Smithies / who fell asleep Sept 16th 1916 / aged 51 years / Also Herbert / Beloved son of the above / who was killed in France / Augt 21st 1918 aged 24 years / also the above named James Turton / who died Novr 27th 1932 / aged 71 years.
Herbert is also remembered on the Carlton War Memorial, St John's Church and is buried in Flesquieres Hill, British Cemetery in France.
