Barnsley, St Mary's Church - Jack Normansell Plaque and Window

From the Barnsley Chronicle of 21st October 1922
"The second window, in memory of Capt Jack Normansell, depicts S. George, the the Patron Saint of England , slaying the dragon; S. Michael, the Archangel, captain of the Heavenly Hosts; and S. Martin of Tours, dividing his cloak with a beggar, on whose day, November 11, the armistice was proclaimed in 1918"

The inscription reads:
TO THE GLORY
OF GOD
And in proud & loving
memory of
JACK NORMANSELL 
Captain 13(SB) Y & L Regt,
aged 27 years who fell
in France for Freedom, 
Honour and Right on
March 10th 1917

This window was erected
by his sorrowing parents


John Normansell is buried at Serre Road Cemetery No.1 in France and is commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website.
